Background
The Client Info Panel, more commonly known as the Yellow Bar, displays information about the the client in-context (i.e. the selected client). Previously, this information was editable via the Client Registration form. Now, this information can also be updated directly from the Yellow Bar by clicking either the icon or the hyperlink for:
- Alerts icon
- Pronouns
- MRP (Most Responsible Provider)
- AP (Alternate Provider)
- Care Team
- PC (Primary Care POS)
- Alt (Alternate POS)
- Ext. GP/NP
The remaining sections of the Yellow Bar will need to be updated in the Client Registration form such as client demographics or contact information.
Manage Alerts from the Yellow Bar
Grey triangle = No active alerts
Red triangle = Active alerts present
Click on the alerts icon (triangle) next to the client's name to launch the Patient Alerts form.
Follow the steps in Client Alerts to update alerts.
Note: If any of the below listed Aggressive Alert is active, the client's name will appear in red font.
Different aggressive alerts:
- Aggressive Client Behaviours
- Aggressive Family Behaviours
- Aggressive Visitor Behaviours
- Aggressive when Intoxicated
- Do Not Visit Alone
Manage Pronouns from the Yellow Bar
Click on the Pronoun hyperlink to launch the Update Pronouns form.
Follow the steps in Gender Inclusion: Name, Gender Identity, Sex and Pronouns in Profile EMR to update pronouns.
Manage Care Team from the Yellow Bar
Click on the Care Team hyperlink to launch the Medical Record Care Team form.
Follow the steps in Care Team to update the Care Team list.
Manage Providers and POS from the Yellow Bar
Click on any of the hyperlinks for MRP, AP, PC, Alt, Ext GP/NP to launch the Update Providers and POS form.
The Standard Operating Procedure: Primary Care Place of Service and Alternate Place of Service article defines PC POS, Alt POS, MRP, and AP.
Manage Providers
1. Click in the provider field to edit it
2. Begin typing the name of the provider and the system will try to find the best match
Alternatively, click on the ellipses (...) to open the Search window
3. Select the correct provider to populate into the field
Note: The External GP/NP list is managed by Super Users of your clinic. See External Clinicians (External Providers and Pharmacies).
4. Click Save to update the information in the Yellow Bar
Manage Primary Care POS
A client may only have one PC POS.
1. Click in the Primary Care Clinic dropdown
2. Select the PC POS to populate into the field
Note: Only logged-in users at that particular POS can add or remove the PC or the Alt POS. See Change POS.
3. Click Save to update the information in the Yellow Bar
Manage Alternate POS
A client may attend multiple Alternate Clinics.
1. View the list of Alternate Clinics
2. Tick the checkmark of the Alt POS
Note: Only logged-in users at that particular POS can add or remove the PC or the Alt POS. See Change POS.
3. In the free-text field beside the Alt POS, enter the reason (e.g., wound care or OAT)
4. Click Save to update the information in the Yellow Bar
Review POS History
In the Update Providers window, there is a History button. Clicking on the button opens the POS Version History for the client. It will display any updates made to a client's PC POS or Alt POS, the date/time of the update, and the name of the user who made the update.
Review Contact Phone Details
Hover with the cursor over the phone number in the Yellow Bar. The phone contact type and the corresponding Notes will appear. The phone information displayed, in order of priority, is the preferred phone, followed by cell, home, work, then other.
Click on the Phone label to open the Contact Phone Details window. This will bring all information that has been entered into the Client Registration Form into view, such as: the client’s preferred number, all available phone numbers, consent to contact, and Notes in view.
As of Jul 2024, if the Preferred Phone is not one of the four main phone types (home, cell, work, other), then the number and consent will display under the Preferred Phone Type label.
