Problem
Help! I've deleted my encounter! How can I get it back?
If the Encounter was Deleted Without Prior Saving
We can't restore a deleted encounter. If the encounter was deleted without having been saved at some point, there is nothing we can do.
If the Encounter was Saved Prior to Deletion
If the encounter was saved prior to deletion, it can be found in Medical Record / Encounters - look for the date and look at the Versions.
- Find the encounter in Medical Record / Encounters and click on the blue link Version
- The yellow highlighted text is the text you want, but you don’t want the highlight in your encounter note. Currently the system is comparing Version 5 (the deleted one) with Version 4. To fool the system, pull Version 4 into the top window so there is nothing to compare and the text will look normal.
- You can maximize the window so it will be easier to copy the entire text. Select the text you want – the entire thing including the encounter title is recommended – and copy or Ctrl-C to put it in your clipboard.
- Next, start a New Encounter from the top tool bar.
- Paste the text from your clipboard into the Encounter note by selecting Paste or Ctrl-v
- Then, put some explanation on the top e.g. Replacing Encounter note from June 3rd that was accidentally deleted and enter s\ to sign the explanation
Note: Actioned items (hyperlinks) will not be recreated by paste function. Please reference as additional text - e.g., Prescribed [medication], see prior scripts. Form [name] filled, see documents. - Click Save or close Encounter as changes are automatically saved
