Add Client Clinical Photo to the body of an Encounter
Overview
Clinical Photos can be taken during a clinic visit and included in the body of an encounter. This article illustrates the steps that can be conducted in Profile EMR to upload an image into a client's encounter note.
Pre-requisites
- Webcam must be ordered from Service Catalogue under Peripherals.
- Plug it into desired computer via USB
- Choose a well lit location and set up the camera
- Optional: Mark an X on the floor where the client should stand
- Pin Camera App to taskbar on your computer for future use.
- Adjust the settings in the Camera App to the Webcam. Click on this
icon to change the camera.

Add Client Clinical Photo to the body of a New Encounter
- Launch Profile EMR. Log in with your credentials.
- Click on the "New Encounter" icon on the toolbar.
- In the body of your New Encounter, typing photo\ to launch the Photo Form.

The Add Photos For: window will appear and by default the “Save as client’s profile photo” radio button will be selected. To upload an image to the body of Encounter. Ensure to select the "Add photo to current encounter with note:" radio button. If you wish to add any notes for the image you are uploading, type it into the free text box.
5. Then click on the “Browse For Photo” button and select the photo you wish to use from your file directory.
6. Click on the “Save” button to save your image, then click on the x to close out of this window.
7. On clicking save, the image and notes will appear in encounter.
8. Continue completing your encounter notes. Save and close encounter. In the future, when users review your encounter note, they will be able to see the photo and notes you uploaded to this encounter note.
