Using the BC CDM Diabetes Form
Using Clinical Calculators - BMI (Body Mass Index)
Objective: Entering Height and Weight so the BMI is calculated and saved
Background
• When entering client’s height and weight in the New Encounter using the typing templates: ht and wt, the data is saved in Clinical details and can be graphed.
• The BMI is also calculated and displays in the Clinical Details box, but is NOT saved – it cannot be graphed and cannot be pulled into any documents.
• To ensure the calculated BMI is saved, there are two ways: in BC CDM Diabetes Form or using Clinical Calculators - BMI (Body Mass Index)
Using the BC CDM Diabetes Form
1. Using the BC CDM – Diabetes Form, enter height and weight on the General tab:
2. Once all available data on the form are filled in, select Save and say Yes to dialogue box.
3. Another dialogue box appears – say Yes again
4. The BMI is now saved in Measures and can be graphed as well as pulled into forms etc.
