Problem
After upgrading to Windows 11, some Profile EMR users are encountering a pop-up window that says “Printing from Win32 application” when using the “Print HTML” option. A “Timed out” message appears shortly after initiating the print. Clicking Yes will successfully send the document to the printer. However, the message box remains on the screen until you click No or manually close the box.
Workaround
A workaround is to restore the Legacy Print Dialog in Windows 11:
- Start the Registry Editor (regedit.exe)
- Go to the following branch: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Print\UnifiedPrintDialog
- Create a new REG_DWORD value named PreferLegacyPrintDialog
- Set PreferLegacyPrintDialog data to 1
- Exit the Registry Editor
