Background
The Request Earlier Appointment Functionality enables users to mark an Appointment as needing an Earlier Appointment by ticking the box called Request Earlier and selecting a POS option.
Ticking this box automatically triggers Profile EMR to add the Client Appointment to a list that will appear whenever an appointment is cancelled or deleted before the date of their current appointment.
Instructions
1. Book the appointment.
2. In the New, Book or Edit appointment window, tick the Request Earlier box.
3. In the adjacent drop-down menu, select the Place of Service option that best suits your needs:
- At same POS
- Use when you want to be advised about available appointments at the same POS (Place of Service)
- At any POS
- Use when you want to be advised if an appointment has become available at any of the other POS that the provider works from
4. Click OK.
What will happen
If an appointment booking is cancelled or deleted, a Waiting Clients window will appear, showing a list of all clients waiting for an earlier appointment, as shown below.
Note: Clients with an appointment within 24 hours of the one being deleted or cancelled will not be listed. Also, the Waiting Clients window will not appear when the appointment being cancelled or deleted is for the current day. It is assumed that there is not sufficient time to notify the patient.
