Letter templates can be set up in various ways. All letter templates that are meant for GPs/NPs/Specialists, are set up with To External. In this case, the salutation is also set to Recipient.
When the template is set up in this way, you will get the Select External Clinician window where you then search for the doctor or other provider who is the recipient.
When you select the recipient and click on OK, the letter template will populate with the provider’s name, because the template pulls in the Recipient.
