Background
The clinician of the day (COD) should deal with the results of anyone who is away to ensure that urgent issues aren’t missed and to keep the list manageable for everyone in the clinic.
Any other clinicians working on that day should still be reviewing and signing off their own results.
View all unsigned transactions for everyone at your POS (when COD)
1. In the Work Center, click on Unsigned Trans.
2. Note the default filter settings: View filter is set to ALL MY RESULTS FROM ANY POS and the Assigned filter is set to default to your name.
3. Change the View filter to Results Current Clinic.
4. Change the Assigned filter to All permitted. This will allow you to see all unsigned transactions for all of the clinicians at the site you are logged into.
Note: If you reverse steps 3 and 4, you will see all results for everybody at your clinic, regardless of where the results were ordered from. There could be hundreds of results.

Flag results to be reviewed by MRP or ordering provider
If the COD has determined that the issue/transaction should be dealt with/reviewed by the MRP or the ordering provider, they can use one of two functionalities: MRP to Review button or Annotate (and Task) button.
MRP to Review
This button will sign the result and automatically create a task for whoever is listed as the client’s Most Responsible Provider (MRP in yellow bar).
1. Click the result you want to task to the MRP
2. Click on the MRP to Review button
3. Click OK
Annotate (and Task)
This button will allow you to annotate on the result and then task the ordering provider.
1. Click on the result you want to annotate/task
2. Click Annotate button
3. In the Annotate window, you can select a value from the Common Annotations list or enter free text
4. Click the Task drop down and select either Automatically add task for user or Automatically add task for group as applicable
5. If you selected Automatically add task for user, enter the name of the ordering provider into the 'for' field. If you selected Automatically add task for group, enter your POS code and select the correct task group (e.g. Nursing (DCH) (DCH-NUR)).
6. Click Annotate and Sign
For more information on using the MRP to Review button or the Annotate button, see help file Unsigned Transactions Shortcut Buttons.
Call Patient In
If after reviewing a patient’s results, you decide to call the patient into the clinic, you can annotate on the result and then task the front desk to call the patient.
1. Follow the steps in the previous section to Annotate/Task
2. Manually enter Call patient in - URGENT into the free-text field. If this is of an urgent nature, ensure you follow the annotation/task with a conversation to the front desk group.
Note: When selecting a task group, type the three letters of you clinic code (e.g. PEN) and then select the desired front desk group e.g. CSC/CA (PEN). It is important to task the front desk (CSC/CA) group instead of one person because that individual might be away and the task not seen.
Attach Result to Front of Chart (FOC)
If the result is to be reviewed at the next visit, it can be left on the front of the chart (a concept from the days of paper charts) so that whoever sees the client next will see the task and review the result the next time the patient comes in.
1. Click the result you want reviewed at next visit
2. Click the Review at Next Visit button (this will automatically sign the result and create a task assigned to Front-Of-Chart)
3. Click OK
The FOC Task will now be visible in the Tasks window of the client's Medical Record:
The next clinician seeing the client can double-click on the task and will see a blue link to the result.
For more information about creating a FOC Task from Unsigned Transactions or from Results, see Help File Front of Chart (FOC) Tasks.
TIP: Let's say you think you may have made a mistake on a result that you have signed off on and want to double-check. You can see a list of any transactions you recently signed via the icon indicated below:
